The JJS-IJ Design Awards, presented by Indian Jeweller (IJ) magazine in association with the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS), is a celebrated annual platform that honours the finest jewellery designs from manufacturers, retailers, and students across India. Born from a shared passion for elevating Indian jewellery design to its rightful place on the world stage, the awards have grown into one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the gem and jewellery calendar — a true celebration of artistry, craftsmanship, and commercial brilliance.

Reputation is built over years — but it needs to be refreshed and reaffirmed constantly. The JJS-IJ Design Awards give established names a structured, credible occasion to demonstrate that their design thinking continues to evolve. Beyond the trophy, the real value lies in the spotlight: your work gets evaluated by a distinguished jury, featured in India's leading jewellery trade publication, and placed in front of thousands of retail buyers and industry influencers. In a competitive market where buyers are always comparing, an award validates your design superiority in a way that no advertisement can replicate. It tells the industry — and your customers — that your creativity has been tested and recognised by people who truly know jewellery.

Absolutely — and in many ways, the awards matter even more for emerging brands. The JJS-IJ Design Awards judge every entry purely on design merit: concept, originality, and commercial appeal. The size of your showroom or the scale of your turnover has no bearing on the outcome. What this means in practice is that a well-crafted design from a boutique manufacturer in a tier-2 city stands on equal footing with an entry from a large metropolitan house. Participation alone earns you visibility on a national platform — your design appears before jury members, trade voters, and media. A nomination or win at this stage can be the pivotal moment that introduces your brand to buyers and partners you would otherwise take years to reach.

  • Pan-India media coverage through IJ magazine’s print and digital channels.
  • Exposure to retail buyers and trade professionals attending the Jaipur Jewellery Show.
  • A credible, third-party endorsement that can strengthen your sales and marketing conversations.
  • Featured presence in the Special Awards Supplement — a collector’s edition distributed across the industry.

Yes — and this is something many first-time entrants discover only after they participate. Every entry submitted to the JJS-IJ Design Awards is displayed on the awards platform during the jury voting process, giving your design visibility with a panel of experts drawn from architecture, fashion, and luxury. Shortlisted designs receive additional editorial attention in Indian Jeweller magazine and across its social media channels. Even entries that do not make the final list benefit from the discipline of the process itself — presenting your work with professional photography, a clear design narrative, and a commercial rationale sharpens how your team thinks about and communicates your designs internally and externally. Many participants find that the awards process becomes an annual creative milestone that motivates their design team and raises the bar for their collections.

The awards welcome three distinct participant groups:

  • Jewellery Retailers — eligible to enter the Retail Categories with finished jewellery from their store offerings.
