At IJ Design Awards 2025, the integrity of every award begins with the integrity of its evaluation. Our jury is not assembled by chance — every member is carefully handpicked for their deep domain expertise, their standing in the jewellery industry, and an unbiased perspective that transcends personal preference.
We seek jurors who understand the true language of jewellery — the discipline of a master craftsperson, the weight of a perfectly set stone, and the courage it takes to bring an original idea to life. Our panel brings together working designers, creative directors, retail leaders, and material experts, ensuring that every entry is seen through multiple, equally informed lenses.
Does the piece push creative boundaries? Jurors look for original concepts, fresh interpretations of form, and a distinct design language.
Excellence in making. The quality of setting, finishing, proportion, and technical skill are closely examined.
Great design must also be functional, balanced, comfortable, and commercially relevant.
Every entry must represent the entrant’s own authentic and original creative work.
Jurors assess how thoughtfully gemstones, metals, and materials support the design intent.
The emotional response, storytelling ability, and memorability of the piece.
All entries are reviewed against eligibility criteria. Incomplete or ineligible entries are removed.
Jury members independently score entries using a standardised judging matrix.
Scores are collated and shortlisted entries are discussed collectively by the panel.
Winners are verified, confirmed, and sealed confidentially until the awards ceremony.
